The Sustainability Compass for SMEs is a matrix that positions businesses along two axes: sustainable orientation and entrepreneurial orientation. Sustainable orientation assesses environmental, social, and community practices. Entrepreneurial orientation measures attitudes towards three fundamental entrepreneurial behaviors.

In its quiz format, the Sustainability Compass for SMEs reveals your SME’s orientation after 45 multiple-choice questions.

Based on your answers, the Compass assigns your SME to one of four company profiles defined by research on sustainability and entrepreneurship. Is your company strategic or reactive? Is it more activist or traditionalist? The Sustainability Compass for SMEs will point to the direction that best matches the displayed behaviors.

The Compass offers a way to discover which of your practices contribute to sustainable development. Some aspects may surprise you. It is also a tool for reflection on the positioning and overall performance of your organization.

We do not claim that this is a precise diagnostic, but the profiles generated are based on results obtained from several hundred SMEs in Quebec.

Once the quiz is completed, you will be invited to answer the international survey questionnaire, with access to compiled results from 350 SMEs.
