The Sustainability Compass for SMEs/SMBs is a sensitization tool developed in the form of a quiz aimed at SME/SMB managers. It assesses the entrepreneurial orientation of SMEs/SMBs and their sustainability practices, both environmental and social and community-based.

The Sustainability Compass is based on international research.

The questions are drawn from the questionnaire “Survey on the Integration of Sustainable Development in the SME/SMB Context: An International Comparison” (2014), which was revised and updated in 2020.

The questionnaire “Survey on the Integration of Sustainable Development in the SME/SMB Context” was created by (in alphabetical order) Jean-Marie Courrent, François Labelle, and Martine Spence and was updated in 2020 by François Labelle.
